3. Lump-sum advance payments for multi-month segments entitle the student to his/her first lesson free as well as free participation in Rock Band.
4. A student’s lessons may be suspended if payment is not received in a timely manner.
5. The cost of materials such as lesson books, sheet music, etc. is payable by the student as a separate expense.

Lesson Scheduling:

7. A weekly lesson day/time will be set at the time of registration according to the student’s preferences and the instructor’s availability. Changes to this assigned time may be negotiated at the end of a segment or in accordance with our cancellation policies (see below).
8. A student’s private lesson day/time cannot be guaranteed if:
a. Payment has not been received for a segment renewal, or
b. He or she is absent for more than two weeks (unless payment has been received for the lessons to be missed).
9. Lessons will not be conducted on statutory holidays.

10. 24 hours’ notice is required for lesson cancellations. To properly cancel a lesson, contact D.C. Music Academy directly at (416) 234-0222 and inform the reception desk at the studio. It is not sufficient to simply inform your instructor. Your instructor is not responsible for the scheduling/rescheduling of any class, including any make-up classes if applicable.
11. A properly cancelled lesson will result in a deferral of the lesson to the end of the student’s current paid-for lesson segment. Fee adjustments will be made at time of payment for the subsequent month/segment.
12. No lesson deferral will be made and the lesson fee will be forfeited if:
a. The lesson is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or
b. No notice is received and the student does not show up for the lesson.
D.C. Music Academy reserves the right to suspend a student’s lessons after repeated improper cancellations or no-shows.
13. Cancelled lessons will not be deferred and make-up lessons will be arranged ONLY if the student is working on material for an imminent recital or other D.C. Music showcase.

Discontinuing Lessons:

14. Lessons may be discontinued with one week’s notice. Refunds are not offered for lessons remaining in the segment.
15. Refunds are not offered on registration deposits or for unattended workshop segments.
